Amazon made its first step in Virtual Reality

Virtual Reality is going to be the next huge thing in the gadget world as the world is on the verge of experiencing the entertainment with a real live experience. Leading organizations such as Facebook, HTC and Samsung are already in a stage where they are competing each other with their VR gadgets.

And now it looks like Amazon took its first step in the world of Virtual Reality. Yes, the company has posted openings for a Senior Development Manager for its Virtual Reality Program.

Amazon is known for its projects in the fields ranging from entertainment to application development and the company has many successful stories to its credit. One can therefore be so sure about the success of Amazon in its Virtual Reality ventures.

We can expect the company to launch the Virtual Reality Headset in conjunction with its Prime Video Services. Besides that, Mozart in the Jungle, an Amazon Prime Video series won two awards at the Golden Globes held recently. However, Amazon has not disclosed much about its Virtual Reality ventures and the company is yet to reveal its plans.

“Amazon Video is seeking a talented Senior Software Development Manager to lead our Virtual Reality team. This team is responsible for building the Virtual Reality experience within Amazon Video,” says the job description by Amazon in Glassdoor. “Entertainment is evolving rapidly. The future will not be limited to passive 2D experiences. The Virtual Reality team will explore and create the platform and interface for immersive storytelling. This will include an ingestion and playback platform for Virtual Reality experiences.”
