Fitbit Alta, a Bracelet like activity tracker device

Fitbit Inc. has launched its new product Fitbit Alta which is a bracelet like activity tracker device that measure data such as the number of steps walked, steps climbed, measures quality of sleep and other personal metrics. So, it is a wireless-enabled wearable device that goes smoothly with your style.

Fitbit is a company known for its products of the same name and the new Fitbit Alta is like many other activity tracker as well which gives you inspiration to stay fit and active. The features included in this device are meant to keep you fit as it tracks your steps, distance, calories burned and active minutes. It will remind you to move if you have been sitting at a place for a long time and do celebrate when you move. It has another feature called Auto Sleep Tracking which automatically tracks how long and how well you sleep, so you can see your sleep trends and get on a better routine. You can also set a silent alarm in the Fitbit app and Fitbit Alta will vibrate to wake you peacefully.

The Alta device means smart meets slim as you can get instant access to your stats, the time and smartphone notifications on the slim OLED display. It let you see smart notifications at a glance to keep your phone out of sight and your goals in focus. Since, this does not have any GPS feature or optical heart rate sensors so you can expect a long battery life as per company official website it will last up to 5 full days and nights without needing a charge.

Well, this is all pretty standard stuff for Fitbit, so this time they have focused on the style statement too. The Alta comes with accessory bands which let you easily customize your Fitbit Alta tracker with different metal, leather or classic bands that fit your personal style. You can also choose from a variety of clock faces and pick between vertical or horizontal layouts to see stats your way.

There are other companies as well in the market who have rolled out products similar to this like Apple has made very obvious efforts to establish the Apple Watch as an accessory worn by celebrities and fashion elite. So, it would be interesting to see what next these companies have to offer for the consumers.

The Alta ships in March and costs $130. Since, we haven’t had the chance to try the Alta yet, so stay tuned for a full review once it is out in the market.
