The world is eagerly waiting for the Virtual Reality devices that are lined up for launching this year. Microsoft’s augmented Reality Headset, HoloLens, absolutely stands as one of the favorite upcoming VR devices in the list. The latest buzz about HoloLens is that it is going to be totally wireless and can be used as long as 2.5 hours to 5.5 hours on a single charge.
We all know that Virtual Reality is meant to take us on a whole another world, may it be gaming or a video or real virtual experience through camera. Considering that, even though your VR device is the best in the market to inject Virtual Reality into your minds, a small hindrance caused by the wire of your device is enough to bring you out of the VR world. Using HoloLens, issues like this are not likely to happen as the device sports features like Bluetooth and Wifi.
There are also reports that a wired version of this device will not be available at all. This being said, HoloLens is going to be more like a laptop as it would last 5.5 hours long on a single charge like a laptop.
The device will be able to run any universal Windows 10 app in addition to the 3D apps. Microsoft was able to bring a decent battery life in HoloLens by limiting its field of view. The view will be just like how you would watch a 15-inch display at a 2 feet distance. The company will work on expanding the field of view later when the costs come down.
The launch date of the device is still not revealed by Microsoft. However, the developer edition will be available by this quarter at a cost of $3000. Finally, the device is expected to blow our minds just as how Microsoft’s Xbox did when it was released.
