Google is very serious about Virtual Reality. So serious that it started a separate division for it in the organization.

Clay Bavor is going to be the virtual reality guy of Google and will be leading the virtual reality team alone and entirely focus on its products in 2016. Clay Bavor, VP for product management has run Google’s apps like Docs, Drive and Gmail. He has also watched over Google Cardboard ever since it was launched. Diane Greene, Enterprise chief will take over the position of Bavor at apps division.

There are reports that Apple is working on its VR device in stealth mode. Facebook has already priced its VR device, Oculus Rift at $599. HTC has scheduled to begin the pre-orders of Vive from February 29th. In the wake of all these reports, this decision by Google to handle its Virtual Reality ventures with a dedicated division isn’t surprising as its competitors are already miles ahead than Google in the Virtual Reality world.
