Flipkart to shut down its e-books app

Flipkart has announced in their website that it will start migrating Flipkart e-books app service to Kobo. The company will stop providing ebooks to download beginning from December 17.
Flipkart has decided to make this move citing the domination of physical books over e-books in India.

However, the users will be able to use their e-books in Kobo after the transition. According to Flipkart, an email with personalized transfer link will be sent to its e-book users and the link to migrate will also be available in its website using which the users can migrate the purchased titles to Kobo.
Flipkart has promised to refund the titles which are not available in Kobo to the Flipkart account.
The e-books app by Flipkart will be available for use even after transition, but the app will mark its end on February 18, 2016 as the e-books will not be available for download.
This decision by the Flipkart is certainly a big advantage for other leading e-books firms like Amazon and it will help them to continue to dominate the race in the e-book world without any challenges.
Earlier in the past, Flipkart had shut down its other services like Payzippy, a payment service and Flyte, a music service in July 2013 and May 2013.
