Xiaomi announced the company’s latest flagship phablet, Xiaomi Mi Max at an event in China. Thanks to the speculations and rumors, the device has been all over the news for the past few weeks.

Xiaomi Mi Max Specifications

Xiaomi Mi Max sports a 6.44-inch full HD IPS 2.5D glass display at a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels with 72% NTSC color gamut and 1000:1 contrast ratio. It will be available in 3 GB RAM and 4 GB RAM variants. While the former again comes in two variants of 32 GB and 64 GB internal storages, the latter is packed with 128 GB storage. Internal memories of all the variants can be expanded using microSD. The device runs on MIUI 8 that is based on Android 6.0 (Marshmallow).

It has a 16 MP primary camera with f/2.0 aperture, PDAF, dual-tone LED Flash and a 5 MP Selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture, 85-degree wide angle lens. It is packed with infrared and fingerprint sensors. The device supports GPS + GLONASS, Bluetooth 4.2, Wi-Fi 802.11ac (2.4 / 5 GHz) MIMO and features a 4850 mAh / 4760 mAh battery.

Xiaomi Mi Max will be available in light grey, silver and gold colors and is priced as below for the corresponding variants:

3 GB RAM and 32 GB internal storage – 1499 yuan (US$ 230 / Rs. 15335 approx.)
3 GB RAM and 64 GB internal storage – 1699 yuan (US$ 260 / Rs. 17,375 approx.)

4 GB RAM and 128 GB internal storage – 1999 yuan (US$ 306 / Rs. 20,445 approx.)

The device is currently available for order in China and will start its sales from May 17th. There is no news on whether when this device will be available in the rest of the countries.
